Testimonal: Stacey Galfskiy
Stacey works alongside her mum in their family run business, Chillilicious. Running Scotland’s only chilli farm, Chillilicious produce delicious chilli food products and handmade chilli-inspired glass art that blends their combined love of food and art.
Having set up the business in May 2011, Chillilicious had only accepted cash and cheque payments before signing up to WorldPay Zinc. Not many people carry cheque books these days so customers often had to be sent back in to the nearest town in search of cash points and as many as 50 per cent never returned. Being able to accept card payments has meant customers not only purchase more, but a greater number can be reached as those lost into the town are now able to make purchases on the spot.
“I can now target new customers”
With the weather in Scotland not always prime for chilli growing, the glass art side of the business is really important for Stacey and her family. Being able to process card transactions has meant purchases of art and cookery utensils has increased significantly. When restricted to cash, Stacey often found purchases were limited to jams and chutneys – something easily affordable with the coins in your purse.
“Since implementing WorldPay Zinc, not only are we seeing customers purchase more goods, but it also enables us to be more competitive,” commented Stacey.
“As a child of the modern day, accepting card payments is so important”
“I never have cash, I’m a child of the modern day”, Stacey mentioned. “As such, I recognised the need to offer a variety of payment options to our customers – simply accepting cash is no longer enough.” Stacey researched potential systems, conscious that the monthly costs needed to be kept to a minimum. “After researching the options available to us, WorldPay Zinc was an easy choice for us. It’s so simple, quick and easy to use we find customers purchasing additional items even after processing transactions”, said Stacey.
“I cannot praise it enough, I’m always recommending to other businesses and sharing my experience across my social media channels. Not only has it made our life easier but it’s made our customers happier as they can purchase items without looking for an ATM”.
Chillilicious is growing all the time, and with plans to open a farm shop and a café, being able to accept card payments is crucial to the ongoing success of the business.
